I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Great daycare is very difficult to find in this area, and this is the best I have ever seen. I felt instantly comfortable with director Susanna, and the program is so unique and stimulating for all ages. I love the large playspaces both indoors and out, and logging in online from work and seeing my child playing and having fun is fantastic. Worth every penny!

If you want the most loving and caring learning environment for your child, this is the place to be. Thank you Susanna for making our daughter's early years memorable for both her and us. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We started our son at Maple Bear when he was 4 months old. He is now 2 and 1/2, and we are SO HAPPY that he has grown up in such a loving, stimulating, healthy environment. Susanna genuinely cares about and loves every child in her daycare, and she has a staff of great helpers & nannies. Her presence is part grandmother, part kindly schoolteacher. She provides home-cooked meals & snacks, and she brings in guests for music, dance, yoga, and health classes once a week. There is a maximum of about 12 kids here. It is an indoor/outdoor environment in the back of a townhouse. The "curriculum" is loose...it is a Daycare, not a Preschool, but there is lots of stimulation and learning opportunities for kids of all ages. We like the fact that everyone from infants to 4-year-olds all play, learn, and eat together. Our son has socialized well...we give a lot of credit to Maple Bear for providing a space where he feels loved, supported, engaged, and included. Thank you Maple Bear!

My son loves Maple Bear! Susanna and her staff are professional, fun and caring. There is a wide variety of activities. All meals/snacks are home cooked and healthy. Only nontoxic cleaning solutions are used. This is a mixed age facility which means the younger kids learn from the older ones and vice versa. Check out their website, schedule a tour and get on the wait list. Yes, there is a wait list and after a visit you will see why.

Sue is one of the most dedicated Home Day Care Providers I have ever known. She had put hours upon hours into her business, here in Canada. Working early in the morning and closing late in the dinner hours. Sue is punctual, reliable, confident, trustworthy, gentle, loving, & most of all very nurturing when is comes to children. I have the utmost certainty that Maple Bear Academy will have parents lined up around the corner to have their child enrolled very soon.

Sue has provided childcare to my two daughters (18 mths, 3 yrs), here in Los Angeles. In addition to her extremely loving ways, her school has so many fun activities! My 3 yr old calls it "like disneyland". She has designed a school that is conducive to play, learning, and sharing. I could go on & on about all the things she teaches. As a professional full-time working mom, I do not always remember to teach little things on a daily basis. Sue is constantly on top of teaching in those little ways. Close to Valentine's Day, my daughter came home & said " Cupid will be flying around soon". We looked in the sky everyday for "Cupid" for 2 weeks prior to Valentines Day. That imaginative play is priceless to me. She is located in a beautiful neighborhood. A lot of street parking, great for drop-off & pickup. The delicious healthy home cooked meals she provides is truly a bonus to all the other wonderful qualities she & Maple Bear provide. Reading the other reviews, from her parents in Canada, it looks like Socal inherited a gem.

I am an LA parent that has toured numerous facilities and spoken with various agencies that regulate childcare licensing in the city. I was shocked by the lack of high quality home day care available anywhere in and around the West Hollywood, Beverly Hills area. I grew up watching my Mom cultivate the lives of children from year to year in our home in Canada, and I feared my son would miss out on that magical early learning experience. Fortunately, my parents were listening to my complaints about LA childcare, and after months and months of hard work, they are here, the school is built, and a handful of the city's children will be fortunate enough to experience early childhood education at its finest. Welcome Maple Bear Academy! I am so happy you are here!
